Red flags in a class 4 shingles quote
- "Hail-proof" in the sales pitch: no roof is
- No product name or impact rating on the quote
- A roofer quoting only Class 4, with no architectural price to compare
- A promise that your insurer will pay for the upgrade
Before any deposit: ask for the roofer's Alberta prepaid contracting licence (Service Alberta's online lookup) and a WCB-Alberta clearance letter, and get the contract in writing.
